- Before joining Evercare Hospital Chattogram, Dr. Akhter served as an Assistant Professor at Khulna City Medical College Hospital in the Department of Transfusion Medicine from December 2022. In this role, she was responsible for the transfusion of red cell concentrates, FFP, cryoprecipitate, and platelet concentrates. She also managed and investigated transfusion reactions, monitored blood component preparation and screening tests, and provided donor care, counseling, and motivation. Dr. Akhter also performed cross-matching and other serological tests related to transfusion practice, while delivering lectures to undergraduate students.
- Her previous roles include serving as an Honorary Medical Officer in various positions from 2013 to 2014, a Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics from 2011 to 2012, and a Medical Officer in the Department of Internal Medicine from 2008 to 2009.
- Dr. Mezba completed her MD in Transfusion Medicine at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) from March 2016 to January 2022. She also holds an MBBS degree from the Medical College for Women and Hospital, earned in 2007. In addition to her formal education, she has completed hands-on training in phlebotomy at Queens Hospital in Romford, organized by Maxis Health Care UK.
