[Dhaka, 29 September 2024]-Evercare Hospital Dhaka, the country’s first JCI-accredited hospital, recently organized a patient forum to celebrate World Heart Day 2024. The theme of this year’s Heart Day was ‘Use Heart for Action’. In the press conference, the speakers discussed this year’s theme and exchanged opinions and experiences. The hospital authorities organized this event to increase awareness about heart health and cardiovascular diseases.

The patient forum was attended by various patients and their relatives and the doctors answered the queries of the patients regarding various problems and diseases of heart. Also, during the discussion, the cardiologists advised everyone to take more care of their and their children’s’ heart. They urged to build a healthy society by abandoning unhealthy daily lifestyles and advised to consult a doctor quickly without neglecting any heart-related problem and to trust Evercare Hospital Dhaka instead of going abroad for better treatment.
The cardiologists present at the event emphasized on the prevention of the heart diseases. They said heart diseases can be prevented by adopting certain lifestyle habits such as controlling weight, exercising or walking daily, keeping diabetes under control, quitting smoking, developing healthy eating habits, controlling stress, ensuring quality sleep etc. Congenital heart diseases can be prevented by MMR vaccination 3 months before planned pregnancy, controlling diabetes mellitus, hypertension & prohibiting the teratogenic medication during pregnancy. Awareness of fetal echocardiography is essential for the management of congenital heart diseases. They also emphasized on taking regular health screenings.
